The Truth about Diet and Weight Loss

I want to talk tonight about weight loss. It’s a subject everyone is worried about. And the problem is that diets don’t work. Everybody has tried a diet. I haven’t met a person yet that’s hasn’t tried something, from kids to people in their eighties; everybody has tried some kind of diet and they just don’t work. In recent studies when they looked at a lot of their major diets (some good one’s, Atkins, The Zone), they put them all together statistically and found a ten pound weight loss on average. Now, these people lost a hundred pounds and gained it back of course. But, all that work, all that money, all those videos, for ten pounds of weight loss?

So the truth is, we have to find a life style that will allow you to stay at a weight that is healthy for you. That’s a much different way of thinking than all this crash dieting that goes on. What you have to learn is how to take care of yourself; you have to learn the appropriate foods; you have to make better choices. That’s the only way it’s going to work.

Perhaps some supplements work, most don’t, clinics, trainers, exercise.. blah blah… As someone who has lost weight and kept it off… EAT RIGHT, DRINK WATER CONSTANTLY, GET REST, EXERCISE MORE!!! The inches will fall off, if not, then #1 your eating wrong. Sugars, fats, candy and ice Cream.. FAIL!!!

It’s one thing to live healthy, and another thing to look good. It’s more complicated than that. Even tho he’s right about SOME of the things, he still doesn’t know what the is he talking about. Go ask few questions in a bodybuilding forum about metabolism and muscle recovery – you are going to get ROFL’d, cause it’s something that you have to know as a child knows his name.

    The Paleo diet is …
The Paleo diet is the ONLY diet. My allergies have all but vanished, my health improved, my energy increased, it even brought my hypoglycemia under control. Oh, and during the first year of eating strictly Paleo, I lost 60 pounds. . . without exercising. No effort, my body shed the pounds and one year later I have kept them off.

  • StabbyRaccoon says:

    Being overweight is …
Being overweight is a consequence of damaging one’s metabolism. Insulin and leptin resistance, plain and simple. To lose weight, get healthy. Starving yourself with less than 1500 calories might make you lose weight, but you ruin your body and will gain it back and then some when you start eating more again. It’s easier and tastier to just learn how to eat to be healthy.

    THE MOST …
THE MOST FUNDAMENTAL QUESTION OF ALL:
    .
What is the underlying law of nature.
    .
As the way of all things, what effect do you suppose its question, knowledge, understanding and application by? billions of persons will have on the state of global economics, science, the humanities, education, government and business?
    .
The underlying law of nature is the most important subject any person can investigate and learn about, can proceed to understand, and can then come to personally apply in life.

  • LockyRabbetts says:

    God this makes me …
God this makes me mad. Some guy rattling off all these fancy words, hormones and genetic terms is just causing people more confusion and stress. Eat less calories, ENJOY the foods you like eating just eat less of it. It’s that simple. Hormone manipulation, genetic understanding, eating “right” foods at the “right” time and glycemic index calculation is just too much information. None of this changes the fact that people eat TOO MUCH overall and need to deal with the main issue here. Enjoy food.

but your tip is still clueless

take out sugar and drinks and that will be as easy as that ?? and then to recommend a movie or video to prove your point??

no, it is all about life style. Changes. I became vegetarian 3 years ago and got down up to 210lbs. Right now, I am at 220lbs. Due to not being to work out and exercise. It is all about following good eating habits and having some form of an active life style.

Videos do not help. Life style changes do
