IS it possible to lose 6 pounds a week?
Hi im 16 years old and I am a severely Obese teenager. Luckily , I started this weight loss challenge and i want to lose some weight by my birthday 7/22/2010 . i just want to know is it possible to loose 6 lbs a week and how many minutes of exercise a day do I have to do.
Exercise is important, but what you really need to focus on even more is your diet – what you eat and how much you eat. You don’t have to exercise so much if you maintain a healthy, portion controlled diet. At the same time, exercise doesn’t actually burn as many calories as you may think. A cup of juice or soda has around 100 calories – which would take a brisk walk for 20 minutes to burn off. That’s fine if you’re only overeating by 100-200 calories, but if you are obese I can guarantee you that you’re overeating by much more than that.
But start a healthy, calorie-reduced diet and introduce regular physical activity and you’ll be on your way. Many people do lose some additional water weight the first week you do this so you may very well lose 5 or more pounds during the first week, however this is a one-time thing and after the initial water weight you will lose typically 1-2lbs per week.

and i don’t know how to do it all i did was not eat and just drink a lot of water.. and i lost 4 pounds in a weekend..

No, thats called a crash diet. it’s not good for you and requires almost starvation. And even if you do it, you will gain the weight back because it hasn’t been maintained. It’s better to go on a sensible 1200 calorie diet and have moderate exercise. Eat healthy foods sand take supplements! Shoot for 2-3 pounds a week and give yourself enough time to accomplish your goal!

Occasionally diet and exercising just is not sufficient, cause there can be additional weight just sitting around in the colon. maybe, but once you get OFF the diet, you gain all the weight back
it isn’t healthy to lose more than three pounds a week.
exercise- try to get in 30 mins everyday
diet- eat less, eat healthier, eat fresher
nothing fatty, processed, sugary, etc.
you might also want to check out the raw food diet. it’s where you only eat raw food. i heard it’s pretty effective but you can get some nasty side-effects.

I believe that weight loss always starts from mindset. This is the reason why i am able to lose 15kg in 2 months and maintain for 3 years straight, all the way till my pregnancy.
1) What is my goal? I want to lose __kg in __ time.
2) Why do I want to achieve this goal? (if possible, come up with 50 reasons)
3) If I do not achieve it, what pains will I have? (come up with as many reasons as possible)
4) If I achieve it, what happiness will I have? (come up with as many reasons as possible)
5) What will happen to me if I continue my current situation for the next 10 years?
6) Then when do I want to take action?
Some solutions I can offer you for diet:
Breakfast: eat fruits/drink fruit juice
Lunch: Less carbo, more veg and fruits, less seafood, meat and eggs
Dinner: Same as lunch but no solid food after 8pm. Soups are great dinners
If you want to exercise to enhance the speed of weight loss. Go for some light jogging or do something you enjoy like an aerobic class or kick boxing class…
