PostHeaderIcon Exercises to get in shape and maybe lose weight?

So I’m 17, 5 foot and weigh 140 pounds. I’m a rather self conscious person and I would like to get into shape for the sole reason of feeling better about myself. I have no time line for how much I want to lose or how long it takes however I need some good exercises that will help me burn fat on my thighs and tummy to aid me in my quest. I already walk 6km 5 times a week (That’s to and from school) and often at least another 8 as I have to walk to work. I also go jogging in the woods when the weather is nice…are there any exercises you can suggest to get into shape?

I used to be VERY VERY FAT,It is really terrible to be a fat woman.I do MANY MANY EXERCISES,have my three meals in a very healthy way.keep Sugar,fat,meat away .Drink more water ,eat more vegetable and fruit.I keep doing this for about 1 month,until the day I feel weak and even do not want to move my step.But,The result is not as good as what I supposed to be.After that I follow the suggestion from my neighbor,Mrs.Smiths,tried an amazing weight loss pill. Day Meal Plan

6am V8 ( 8oz) (50 calories) — I use to do 5.5 oz but I changed it since there isn’t many calories

8am Protein Shake with 1/4 banana (Total Approximate Calories = 220)
Wheat toast one piece (70 calories)

10am cucumber yogurt home made half cup (Total Approximate Calories = 160)

Turkey sandwich: on wheat with lettuce, tomato, pickle (approx 360)

2pm red apple (Total Approximate Calories = 90)

4pm 1 banana 1 orange mixed with (COOL WHIP LITE 1 serving (9.0 g)
(Total Approximate Calories = 200)

6pm potato and peas soup, Indian style with rice (1 cup approx calories 300)

Total calories 1450

1 day meal plan (after half goal weight lost)

PostHeaderIcon Can anyone share Atkins diet stories? In my second week and weight lose seems to have stopped?

Husband and I are following the diet religously, he’s already lost about 1/2 his weight. I’m getting smaller the but the scales are stubborn. How can I lose half a dress size and not show any weight loss on the scales? Help, I need encouragement. I really need to stick to this diet and make it work or I’m afraid I’m in for big health risks.

Whatever you do, don’t give up. I lost 68 lbs in about 4 months but the first week was kind of slow and I plateaued several times while on it. Try not to be in competition with your husband. Men tend to lose weight at a faster rate than women (hormones?). Just stick with it and good luck!

PostHeaderIcon Do you know how I can lose weight in my stomach area?

Okay so I have to start gym at school in about 3 week. I have a stomach that isn’t flat. I am not fat I only weigh 85 pounds and i’m 12. But the problem is that my stomach kinda sticks out and I was wondering if there was a way to make it flatter. Please help and don’t be rude I only have 3-4 weeks to look good and I can’t buy things because if I told my mom that I thought my stomach was fat she would flip out and my dad would take me to a doctor to see if I had a disorder or something. And running might now work because it is still kinda cold out. And if you say crunches do you know how many I should do? Thanks for the help and sorry for making you read so much!

If you have a bar hang on it and lift your knees up to your chin as many times as you can and one more, then rest and do it again.
Do this every other day for 6 months..

HELLO AND GOOD LUCK TO ALL LOSING WEIGHT IN 2009!!!

I went from wearing a size 0 to a size 11, in less than 5 years. No children and snacks/fast food only. My goal is to lose 15-20 pounds within the next two months. Being overweight is very unhealthy, and hopefully I will have that burden off of my back very soon.

BODYBUILDING NUTRITION

To gain muscle and lose fat you must;

• Take in slightly less calories than you are burning

• Consume higher quality calories. Eat more natural unprocessed foods that don’t come wrapped in a box. If it rots, it’s good for you: Lean (protein with low amount of fat, aka chicken & turkey breasts, lean beef, eggs), Green (vegetable, green beans, salads, apples), & Marine (fish).

One of the biggest “nutrition Secrets” in the Bodybuilding world is a technique called carb cycling. In a nut shell you have two different types of carbs.

Starchy carbs—Sources are brown & wild rice, oatmeal, whole grain pasta, sweet potatoes / yams

Non-starchy carbs—Sources are veggies, grean beans, salads, apples, grape-fruit

Cycle your calories by eating only non starchy carbs with your protein on Interval Cardio days and throw in your starchy carbs only on days you train intensely with weights. This is absolutely t he secret for you to keep your metabolism revved up while you gain muscle and lose fat.

You can work-out till your blue in the face but if you do not incorporate Interval Cardio (done first thing in the morning in a fasted state), intense functional multi-joint, compound exercises, small healthy meals often with protein and carbs combined together, positive mindset, goal setting & social support (you will turn into who you hang around) you will not change your body much. Physique development is about losing fat
(to show the shape of the muscle) as much if not more than building muscle. It is definitely a combination of the two.
